Evolutionary Computation In An Applet.

Hallo!!

Jason Brownlee reports at his blog an implementation made by himself to evaluate and test Evolutionary Algorithms. The most interesting part is that his software is freely available to educational objectives, so any student of Evolutionary Computation or someone else that is interested in Evolutionary Computation can try it and even download it.

His software implements the following Evolutionary Algorithms:

Simple Genetic Algorithm (GA)

Real-Valued Genetic Algorithm (RVGA)

Evolution Strategies (ES) (mu-lambda)

Differential Evolution (DE)

Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) (g-best)

Random Search

Uniform Search (grid)

You can also try the software in an applet here. There you can test the performance of a lot of Evolutionary Algorithms in a considerable amount of test functions, such as Michalewicz Function, Schwefel Function, Easom Function and so on (the figure above is the Shekel's Foxhole Function).

So, play with it and have a lot of fun!! :D

Até Mais!!

Marcelo
