Evolving Naval Structure Through Simulated Evolution

I found a nice summary upon the application of both Evolution Strategies and Genetic Algorithms to optimize the structure of a passenger liner. The simulations took into acount some physical features, such as weight, tension, and deformation, resulting in a problem with 60,000 variables!
